It was Police Week in Washington DC so it was a busy one. We saw one Police Officer get so drunk he ripped his t-shirt and pulled down his pants while declaring “Anyone, who wants to make $300k/year, come speak to me, because this is what we do!” He got kicked out of a bar that honors police officers.

The high-lights of the stop in DC has to be the motorcade drive by of the big dude himself. He was coming back from a speech about overcoming poverty in America at Georgetown University and we happened to see him pull up to the WH at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Talk about timing!

My Dad gave us a great tip for a lunch spot next to the White House. All the cool kids go there- Washington Hotel (owned by the W Hotel chain) and the restaurant is called Pinea. It has outdoor seating to people watch and relax after walking miles scoping out monument after monument.

Other high-lights were touring the Supreme Court and the Capitol Building where you could just about smell Frank Underwood’s cologne.

We took a night tour and we highly recommend it if ever in DC- Signature Tours DC. Sally was genuinely an excellent tour guide and it was worth every penny of the $59. Here’s a look at what you’ll see:
