Our adventure has been a long time coming.
Over the past years, we have been helped by many people in getting to this point, in many different ways. We wanted to dedicate a page on the website to express our thanks to these people for their help, being advisory, financially or mechanically. In 2009, in leu of a any wedding register we asked for contributions to our “Road Trip Fund”. Many people contributed even if they were unable to make the wedding. They are thanked below. It is very likely we have inadvertently missed names but we have done our best to list everyone.

Special Note of Thanks – Rey Fernandez
The first time I met Rey was in 2004 and he had to travel to me because the first Trans Am I owned in CA, had lost its brakes. Prior to this point the brakes had always, at least suggested, they might consider trying to stop the car at some point. But at this point they had decidedly lost all inclination. Rey arrived in a stunning bright orange 71 Plymouth Cuda. A genuine collectable muscle car in anyone’s book. It was also lacking anything resembling a trailer to retrieve the stricken Trans Am. I attempted to protest the car could not be driven because, in my world, brakes are a perquisite to the process. However my thinking was adjusted as I watched the car disappear out of sight, to spend the first of many periods in Rey’s care.
In the following months and years until 2008, Rey basically took apart and put back together 2 cars for me. He stored the latest at his house for the best part of a year between 07 & 08 at no charge. Where every mechanic I had met previously seemed to want to take advantage, Rey would accept only the bare minimum by way of payment. I have no doubt he saved me thousands of dollars and we both can’t thank him enough for that.

Tom Fischer – Muscle Car Restorations
Tom and his team did their best to undo some of the damage I had done in the years between it leaving Reys care in 2008 (including a number of road trips and the Colorado floods of 2013) and arriving on the east coast in 2014. He and his team did sterling work to bring the car back to the one you see at the top of this Special Thanks page. I know he is not a fan of having his picture taken, so I have saved him (and me) from posting the picture I made him have taken with the car at the end of his work.
