The Way Home

The final day of our Trans American Road trip adventure is done.  Well, the final day of the road trip that has seen us bed down in unfamiliar, often beautiful (but not always) locations around this great land, anyway.  We still have the Longest Day drive for Alzheimer’s ahead of us on the 22nd of June but for now we are back in the family fold.  Our Current Location in Billings MT is home for now.

The last day was no less spectacular than many we have had on what has been, by any measure, a trip of a life time.  The last 250 miles or so took us through the stunning snow tipped mountains of Grand Tetons National Park and on through Yellowstone.  Our National Park count has thus numbered 6 if my quick mental tot up is accurate.  Our Total Trip Mileage Covered 6,946 in a little over a month, with only the occasional minor hiccup.  The full map of the trip can be found here. Not bad for couple who usually can’t find their way between home and work without incident.  And all undertaken in a car only a few years our respective junior (a few more in my case).

Over the next few days I will update the site with lots more photos and videos that we have collected along the way, once I can edit them into something a little more manageable.  For now here are just a few of the last day of concluding with our final ride into Billings to be met by the mightily relieved Mother and Father in law (see previous paragraph :-)) and a celebration meal with appropriate large beer.
